The rare agent with a real, useful output, wrapped in a token-gate that priced out the people it could help.

BaseTerminal historically token-gated (600k AIXBT); shifting toward subscription.Est. 2024By The Seetube deskJuly 2026

Pros

  • Genuinely useful narrative and sentiment tracking
  • Runs largely autonomously, 24/7, on X
  • Aggregates 400+ KOLs plus on-chain and news data
  • One of the highest-market-cap agents on Virtuals

Cons

  • Terminal historically required ~600k AIXBT to access
  • Output can be surface-level narrative-chasing
  • Value accrual depends on an unproven subscription pivot

aixbt is an autonomous AI agent focused on crypto market intelligence, launched in November 2024 and built on Base via Virtuals Protocol. It is best known as an always-on analyst on X that surfaces emerging narratives before they trend.

What it is

The agent aggregates social chatter, on-chain metrics, and news, then applies narrative detection and sentiment analysis to flag what is heating up. Its signature move is monitoring more than 400 key opinion leaders to catch narratives early, pulling cross-chain data from ecosystems including Solana and Base. Analyses of its posting behavior describe it as almost fully autonomous, replying and posting around the clock without manual oversight.

How it works

The public agent posts free on X. The premium product is the aixbt Terminal, pitched as a Bloomberg-style dashboard with tokenomics, narrative tracking, and whale-flow analysis. Access has historically been token-gated, requiring holders to hold on the order of 600,000 AIXBT, which at times meant six figures of tokens. The team has signaled a move to a monthly subscription, using fees for buybacks, to widen access.

The verdict

aixbt is one of the few agents in this vertical whose output people actually use, and its narrative-detection edge is real for traders who want an early read on crypto Twitter. The weaknesses are structural: the terminal's token-gate excluded most of the retail users who would benefit, and the analysis can drift into chasing whatever is loud rather than what is right. If the subscription pivot lands, it becomes far more defensible. As is, it is a strong free feed with a paywall that has not yet found the right shape.
